Recently, I displayed my Garden Photo Collection as part of the first annual ArtsCentral festival.
The festival itself took place September 17th and 18th, 2005, and my photos were on display in the donated window of Central Square Florist for about a week before and after. The idea behind ArtsCentral, which was put on by the CSBA, is to showcase the art in things that are not commonly considered artistic.
The prints I showed were very straightforward. They are the same digital photos that are available on this site printed on a laser printer in tabloid layout. I displayed 12 prints in all, and they cost about $30 to print at a local copy shop. None of the prints are for sale, but the pictures themselves are freely available, along with my other photos.
In addition to showing photos, I participated in a demonstration of some martial arts techniques with some members of Chushin Dojo, where I study Jujitsu. The audience was very receptive and at 50-75 people was probably our largest turnout for a demonstration to date. I was also a model in a fashion show for local designers.
